The hype around Abidaz debut album “In & Ut” has been building up since early autumn. Swedish media has raised the expectations several notches by calling it “The hip hop album of the year” even before the release. The participation of special guests stars such as Robyn and Sebbe Staxx from “Kartellen” doesn´t make it any less interesting.
“In & Ut” is about life, hip-hop and changes. About the hard nock life in the ghetto and about growing up in the margins, with no where to go, sleeping in stair halls and eating sardines out of a can.
Working with the album has been long and hard, according to Abidaz. One of the songs that made it through the needles eye is “Benägen”. – It means more to me than all the songs I´ve written combined, and I´ve written thousands of them. Every time I listen to the last verse I cry.
Abidaz’s career started more than 20 years ago, back then he was known as Chess in the duo Chapee N Chess. According to the Swedish hip hop fans there was no better or more interesting rap-duo in Scandinavia at the time.
After a time-off from the music scene, Abidaz is back, changing his language from English to Swedish, playing with the words in a way that makes him unique.
“In & Ut” is produced by star producer Stress, who signed with Jay-Z and Roc Nation last year.
