The Wolves is an hardcore punk rock band from Tromsø, Norway. The band was formed back in 2010 when the boys were only 14. years old. The band started off as a school cover band, playing old punk music, but quickly decided to evolve and create their own music. The Wolves played their first festival in 2011 during the Bukstafestival in their hometown. The band quickly got the “feel” for music and started working on their debut EP. The EP “Straight outta Krooklyn” was recorded in January 2012 in Kysten Studio by Ariel Joshua Sivertsen and Carl Christian Lein Strømer.
Early 2013 the band participated in a rock and roll contest called Rock against drugs (RMR). After getting second placement of five the year before, they won the contest in 2013 and ranked up as first place. During the summer of 2013 the band visited both the Slottsfjell festival in Tønsberg and the Øya festival in Oslo. In august the band released their first single “Another day Another recreation”. The single was published on EMI and is to be found of Spotify, Wimp, Itunes etc. At the end of the summer the band played an concert that was sold out with the band Kvelertak.
All the members of the band have now turned 17. and has published a 4. track EP and a single. The EP was fast recognized by the Norwegian radio station “NRK P3”. The track “Let’s Skate This Town” quickly got popular and the song was B-listed on the radio station spring 2013. After being played on the radio everyday for a couple of months, the song was taken of the list, but is still often being played along with “Another day Another recreation” and “Straight outta Krooklyn” with the radio show P3 Urørt which is aired every wednesday. The band is also recommended by Metal Hammer as one of the bands to look out for in 2014.
